LOS ANGELES – July 20, 2017 – Michele B. Friend was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Attorney- Certified Public Accountants (“AAA-CPA”). As a dual-credentialed attorney and CPA, Michele also serves as President of the Southern California Chapter of the AAA-CPA.
Michele joined Clark & Trevithick in January of 2017, and was previously a named partner at the law firm of Kneafsey & Friend. Michele can best be described as a trial lawyer that is also skilled in transactional matters. She has nearly 20 years of experience handling many of the diverse legal issues involving a business, including ownership disputes, trade secrets, real estate, employment, contracts, fiduciary duty, fraud, trademarks and rights of privacy. Prior to practicing law, Michele became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio, and worked for a top publicly-traded commercial real estate company where she managed budgets, earnings projections, cash flows and audits. She maintains her CPA license although she no longer practices accounting.
In addition to her leadership roles with the AAA-CPA, Michele is a member of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Los Angeles and Culver City Chambers of Commerce. She is also a pro bono volunteer for the Alliance of Children’s Rights, and serves on the Executive Committee of the St. Thomas More Society.
