>4/15/11 - In recognition of her expertise in commercial finance, Kimberly S. Winick has been elected a Fellow to the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (ACCFL).

>4/12/11 - C&T Office Administrator Hugo Ospina, Jr. received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. The award was announced at the chapter's annual Leadership Awards Luncheon Tuesday, April 12, 2011.

>1/11 - Robert F. DeMeter has been named a "2011 Five Star Wealth Manager" in Estate Planning. Crescendo Business Services compiled the list after surveying consumers and financial services professionals to find wealth managers in the Los Angeles area who scored highest in overall satisfaction. The list was published in the January 2011 edition of Los Angeles Magazine.

>1/18/11 - Alisa S. Edelson has joined the firm. Formerly an associate at Kulik, Gottesman, Mouton & Siegel in Sherman Oaks, Alisa's practice focuses on general business and intellectual property litigation. She also represents businesses in trademark registration applications and website agreements. Alisa will be a part of Clark & Trevithick's litigation and business practice groups.

>1/6/11 - On January 6, 2011, the California Court of Appeal upheld a judgment of $362,757, including attorneys' fees, entered in favor of our client following a 5-day jury trial in a breach of contract case tried by David Olson in September, 2008. The Court of Appeal rejected all of the arguments on appeal respecting the underlying judgment and attorneys' fee award and further affirmed the advisory ruling made by the jury, and adopted in full by the trial judge, that the corporate defendants and one of the individual defendants were all alter egos of each other. The Court of Appeal further held the trial court properly excluded upon Mr. Olson's objections certain evidence and expert testimony the defendants sought to admit at trial.

>12/15/10 - C&T is pleased to announce that Deborah H. Petito and Kimberly S. Winick have been elected shareholders of the firm, effective February 1, 2011. Debbie will continue to advise and represent clients seeking to avoid or resolve problems in the areas of labor & employment as well as elder law. Kim will continue to handle transactions and litigation matters involving bankruptcy, commercial law and finance, and real estate.

>9/27/10 - We are pleased to welcome Glenn Nieves to the C&T Business Practice Team, effective October 4, 2010. Glenn is a corporate transactional attorney with substantial experience representing U.S. and multinational companies in a wide variety of business matters. Glenn's fluency in Spanish assists him in representing Hispanic-owned businesses as well as companies competing in Hispanic/Latino markets, both in the United States and abroad. More info.

>8/10 - Deborah H. Petito has been has been appointed as a member of the Elder Law Committee for the Los Angeles County Bar Association's 2010-11 year.

>8/27/10 - Phil Bartenetti was part of the winning team at the Second Annual HDSA LA Hoop-A-Thon at Pauley Pavilion. Over 400 people watched this one-of-a-kind speed free throw shooting contest/charity event hosted by the UCLA men's basketball program, the Huntington's Disease Society of America, and the UCLA Health System. Phil Bartenetti and his seven teammates won the contest after making 75 free throws in three minutes.

>7/10 C&T is pleased to announce that Stephen Hyam and Scott Page have been named 2010 Southern California Super Lawyer Rising Stars, as selected by their peers in an extensive nomination and polling process conducted by Law & Politics magazine.

>6/17/10 Kimberly S. Winick of the C&T Commercial Law & Bankruptcy practice was elected on June 17th to serve a three-year term as a director of the Pasadena Symphony Association.

>4/8/10 Effective April 8, 2010 Don Clark will serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hillsides, a 95-year-old private, nonprofit foster care and treatment center in Pasadena. Hillsides is committed to creating a safe place for children and works to end the cycle of child abuse.

>3/10/10 C&T attorney David S. Olson was tapped as the Los Angeles Business Law reporter for examiner. com. His articles can be accessed here.

>12/15/09 C&T attorney Raimund Freihube representing a recent immigrant to the United States who just became self-supporting and conversant in the English language but saddled with a dying marriage, obtained a settlement of $300,000.00 for the former spouse to help in the process of starting a new life.

>11/24/09 C&T attorney Eric L. Dobberteen achieved a complete defense verdict for a shopping center owner in a dispute over a $425,000 contract that was part of a failed pollution remediation project. Plaintiffs alleged breach of contract, rights to additional "change order" amounts (almost doubling the cost of the original contract), interest and other causes of action. However, the court found for the client on all counts. In addition, the court upheld the client's counterclaim alleging that it was the plaintiff who breached the contract, upheld the client's claim for damages and will be awarding substantial attorneys' fees to the client.
