Trav Wood, a respected trial lawyer, brings more than 40 years of valuable experience to Clark & Trevithick’s litigation team. Concentrating in general business and commercial litigation, his practice includes extensive representation of clients in disputes involving business torts, questions of fraud, securities, contract, insurance coverage and bad faith, professional liability, trademark infringement and unfair competition law. He represents accounting firms, insurers, financial institutions, law firms, and general businesses in complex business and commercial litigation matters, including commercial and securities class actions.

Trav has tried jury and non-jury cases in state and federal courts and has represented clients throughout the United States and abroad. His experience includes representing clients in numerous investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as before Federal Grand Juries, the Federal Trade Commission, and before various state and local regulatory agencies, including the California and Arizona State Boards of Accountancy. Trav has represented clients in more than 75 administrative trials and related matters, including before the American Arbitration Association and state and local administrative tribunals.

Recently, Trav's experience includes the successful representation of a partner of a "Big Four" accounting firm in a complex SEC investigation involving a major computer chip manufacturer; the lead audit partner of an international accounting firm in a lengthy regulatory investigation involving a large, multi-national software company; and representation of two national insurers in a multi-phased trial litigation in Northern California arising from the claims of more than 16,000 persons claiming to suffer from asbestos related diseases.

Trav earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from UCLA and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California's Gould School of Law. Active in legal and civic affairs, Trav served as the President of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers’ Los Angeles Chapter in 2008-2009 and on the board of directors of Public Counsel, the largest public interest law organization in the United States, for six years. He is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and various litigation and trial related committees of the California, American, and Los Angeles County Bar Associations. Trav has also lectured and served as an instructor on trial issues for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Since 2004, he has been named every year a “Southern California Super Lawyer”, as selected by his peers in an extensive nomination and polling process conducted by Law and Politics and published in Los Angeles Magazine.
