Deborah Petito’s practice has focused on labor and employment law for over 20 years. She has represented public and private sector employment clients in all types of labor and employment matters including representation in federal and state courts, in arbitration proceedings, before the Los Angeles County Civil Service Commission and the National Labor Relations Board. She has also negotiated with labor unions and other organizations on behalf of employers and advised clients during strikes. Her representation has encompassed general advice and counsel on employment issues, including wage and hour matters as well as the handling of state and federal audits and representation before the California Labor Commissioner. She has provided extensive training to executives, managers and supervisors on various employment law topics, including sexual harassment. She has investigated numerous sexual harassment cases and brings a great deal of expertise to the handling of such cases to protect the employer and to bring swift resolution to internal complaints short of litigation. Prior to joining Clark & Trevithick, she was an associate and partner at her previous firm for approximately 20 years providing labor and employment representation to both public and private sector clients.
In 1981, Debbie earned her bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of California at Los Angeles. She received her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and is admitted to the California State Bar, all Federal District Courts in California and the United States Supreme Court.
Debbie was raised in Northern California and currently lives in Glendale with her husband and two sons. She enjoys sports, reading and family and friends.
