Specializing in employment law and business litigation, Dolores Cordell has been with Clark & Trevithick since 1979. Although active in both general business and employment law litigation, Dolores has increasingly focused her employment law practice on "preventative law," advising clients on compliance with the myriad state and federal employment laws and regulations. She counsels clients on the proper handling of employee discipline and terminations, assists clients in the preparation of policy manuals and employee handbooks, and trains in-house personnel to identify and manage potential employment law problems. Since 1994 she has practiced out of the Clark & Trevithick San Francisco office, representing clients throughout the state.
Dolores graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972 and from the University of Southern California Law Center in1977. While at USC, Dolores was voted the outstanding oral advocate in 1976. In 1977 she was voted outstanding oral advocate for the state of California in the Roger Traynor Moot Court Competition.
Dolores is a member of the Employment & Labor Law Sections of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the State Bar of California. She is the past chairman and a founding member of the Provisional and Post-Judgment Remedies Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She is also a former member of the Pasadena Planning Commission and has been active in Pasadena civic matters concerning housing and development. While in Los Angeles, Dolores served as a Superior Court arbitrator.
Dolores is an "Anglophile" and history buff who reads extensively in the areas of English history and literature.
